Month 1

  1. Technical site audit (URL structure, internal linking, title tags, etc.)

  2. Keyword research & mapping

  3. Content audit (identify thin content and optimization/consolidation opportunities)

  4. Content planning (if website has no link magnets and pages with good content, come up with a list of content to create for the client, I can make those primary pages for linkbuilding.)

  5. Google Search Console & Bing Webmaster Tools optimization (XML sitemaps, broken URLs, etc.)

  6. Google My Business audit (if local SEO client)

Month 2

  1. Implementation of items identified during audits performed in month 1 (and/or provided as recommendations to a developer)

  2. Further optimization of existing content (e.g. headings, CTAs)

  3. Creating a linkbuilding plan (what linkbuilding tactics to use, what pages to focus on, what keywords to rank for).

  4. Prospecting for whitehat linkbuilding and implementing strategy to secure “low hanging” backlink opportunities

  5. Writing content for pillar pages you can use for linkbuilding

*If client is in a tight budget, I can opt to:​

  • Re-purpose and share existing articles on content-distribution platforms (e.g. Medium, HubPages)

  • Begin local SEO (citations)

Month 3

  1. Continue optimization of existing content (e.g. headings, CTAs) and publish fresh content on a weekly basis.

  2. Continue local SEO

  3. Build social signals to existing pages/content

  4. Whitehat linkbuilding (conduct guest post, resource page, HARO outreach to build links).

Month 4 Onward

  1. Refresh keyword research and identify new opportunities (typically performed every 3-4 months)

  2. Optimize any newly written content (e.g. headings, CTAs)

  3. Continue the re-purposing and sharing of existing articles (and anything new that is written) on content-distribution platforms (e.g. Medium, HubPages)

  4. Continue local SEO

  5. Continue building social signals to existing pages/content

  6. SEO-specific metrics will be added to the standing monthly report.
